Job Description
Southwest Scenic Group is currently hiring for an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to be a part of our team. The Fabrication Supervisor monitors the day-to-day progression of the building of scenery and staging for Themed Environments, Corporate Meetings, and Broadcast News Sets. They are involved in the construction planning, supervision of fabrication, and final QC of finished scenic elements.
Pay Range:
$25.00 - $35.00 Depending on Experience; with Pay Review after 90 days.Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, building plans, and designer renderings. Work with the salesperson and client to make sure designs align with the budget and client's vision. Determine methods of construction based on available drawings, then work with the drafting department to produce build drawings for the team. Set target dates for all tasks related to each project based on the overall scope of work. List and order materials for each job as needed. Create and submit PO's to vendors through Quick books. Training Provided. Assign tasks to the builders and supervise their progress. Document work tasks and progress in project spreadsheets. Independently take positive steps daily to ensure each project is on time and meeting its production schedule.Skills and Specifications:
Good time management skills. Multitasking skills, critical thinking skills, and creative problem solving skills required. Above average communication and comprehension skills to follow safety regulations, give instruction, and interpret fabrication and installation drawings. Google Sheets, Quickbooks, and Sketchup experience a plus.Job Requirements:
2-5 years of experience in scenic, theatrical, or exhibit constructions. An ability to supervise multiple projects through fabrication at the same time. Be able to work well under deadlines. Good organization and computer skills. Effectively supervise, communicate with, and give clear and succinct direction to the team. Safety focused. Attention to detail.Schedule:
Monday through Friday 7:00-3:30 8-hour shift Overtime as needed by project, can include weekends as the schedule requires.Benefits:
