Full Job Description Description:
Job Summary:
The Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple teams of foremen and workers on large-scale projects or multiple projects within the organization. This role ensures that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and according to specifications, while also coordinating resources, managing schedules, and upholding company standards and policies.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Supervise and manage the execution of construction or production activities across various sites or projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. Review project plans, schedules, and progress, and make adjustments as necessary.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of foremen and supervisors, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team performance. Allocate tasks and responsibilities to foremen and ensure proper workforce utilization. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
Resource Management:
Oversee the allocation and utilization of materials, equipment, and personnel. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials. Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
Safety and Compliance:
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or compliance issues. Ensure adherence to legal regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site or within the team. Troubleshoot and provide solutions to operational or logistical problems.
Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact between upper management and on-site teams. Facilitate effective communication between different departments and project stakeholders. Prepare and present progress reports, updates, and recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience as a Foreman or in a similar supervisory role in construction or manufacturing. Extensive knowledge of construction or production processes, safety standards, and project management.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or other industry-specific certifications may be required.
Working Conditions:
May require working in various environments, including outdoor sites or manufacturing facilities. Ability to work long hours or weekends as needed to meet project deadlines. Physical stamina to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and moving materials.
