This position requires knowledge of the principles, methods, equipment and techniques used in the building, custodial, and grounds keeping trades, as well as health and safety regulations pertaining to cleaning and maintenance methods, equipment and chemicals. This position also requires knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques. Must possess the skill to plan, organize, and coordinate custodial and grounds activities and operations; train, supervise, and evaluate the work of others; establish and maintain appropriate logs and records; prepare reports as requested; prepare accurate time, material and cost estimates; quickly identify problem areas or situations and take appropriate action to resolve identified problems; communicate effectively in oral and written form; maintain inventory and stock quantities at appropriate levels; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties; perform related duties as required. Must possess the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE. MUST SUBMIT A RECENT DMV
(3 YEAR MINIMUM)DRIVING RECORD WITH APPLICATION. A PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL ASSESSMENT AND CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK IS REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT. EXPERIENCE
Three years of increasingly responsible experience in school custodial work, including two years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, is required.DUTIES OF POSITION
Under direction of site administrators, plans, organizes, directs and supervises the custodial, building and grounds maintenance activities and operations for an assigned school site. Supervises the work of others and is responsible for the daily operations and workflow of custodial, building and grounds services. This job classification functions at a full supervisory level of classification.STARTING SALARY
