We operate in a fast-paced, regulated environment and pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to lead our co-packing operations.

Position Summary:

The Production Manager for Co-Packing is responsible for the complete oversight and management of our co-packing lines. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with GMP and quality standards. The successful candidate will manage a team of line operators, coordinate with the Maintenance and Quality Assurance departments, and drive a culture of continuous improvement to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
Production & Efficiency:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple co-packing lines to ensure production targets for output, quality, and timelines are consistently met. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), line uptime, and waste reduction, implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Proactively identify and resolve production bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies to ensure a smooth workflow.

Staff Management & Scheduling:

Lead, train, and motivate a team of line operators, packers, and team leads, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Develop and manage staff schedules, including breaks and rotations, to ensure continuous line operation while adhering strictly to California labor laws and company policies. Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.

Maintenance & Equipment:

Serve as the primary point of contact for the Maintenance department regarding all co-packing equipment. Promptly report any equipment breakdowns or performance issues and collaborate with maintenance technicians to ensure swift and effective resolutions, minimising downtime. Assist in scheduling preventative maintenance to ensure machinery runs reliably and safely.

Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all production activities are executed in strict accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company SOPs, and all relevant health & safety standards. Work closely with the Quality department to address any in-process quality issues and ensure all finished products meet stringent quality specifications. Maintain accurate and timely production records, batch records, and traceability documentation as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a production supervision or management role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in the dietary supplement, food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred. Demonstrable knowledge of GMP and manufacturing in a regulated environment is essential. Proven experience in managing, scheduling, and developing a production team. Strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of packing/bottling line machinery. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and hands-on approach. Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) is highly desirable.
