Job Description

Production Lead-Immediate Temp to Hire Opportunity Position Summary The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within the assigned department, ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence standards. This role provides frontline leadership to production operators, supports continuous improvement initiatives, monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), and contributes to the achievement of departmental and organizational goals. The Production Lead serves as a key link between production teams and management, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a company offering excellent benefits upon conversion to full-time employment .
Schedule First Shift:
4:30 AM - 1:00 PM Occasional operational support may be required on second shift for production coverage when the Production Supervisor is on vacation or unavailable . This is not a frequent requirement , but may occur as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
Starting Pay Rate:
25.00 hr. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and support production operators to achieve daily production targets, quality standards, and safety expectations. Coordinate and monitor daily workflow to ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials. Promote and enforce a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable safety regulations. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including labor efficiency, productivity, downtime, scrap rates, quality metrics, and on-time delivery performance. Identify production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, waste reduction strategies, and other operational excellence methodologies. Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance, quality, and cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges and improve processes. Support employee training, onboarding, cross-training, and development to enhance workforce capability and flexibility. Ensure accurate production reporting, documentation, and clear communication of shift performance and operational concerns. Assist in labor planning and resource allocation to meet production schedules and customer demands. Participate in Kaizen events, process improvement projects, and cost-reduction initiatives. Maintain compliance with all company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management. Qualifications Required Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a lead, team lead, or supervisory role. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and operational best practices. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production environment. Experience tracking and improving KPIs such as efficiency, productivity, quality, scrap, and downtime. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic production reporting systems. Ability to work overtime as required. Preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Prior experience in employee training, coaching, and performance management. Familiarity with ERP, MES, or other manufacturing software systems.
