This role is responsible for leading the detailing team, maintaining workflow efficiency, enforcing quality standards, and coordinating with other departments to support production and delivery schedules. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on detailing experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Coordination Assign daily tasks and monitor the progress of detailing technicians. Train and mentor team members on detailing techniques, equipment usage, and safety procedures. Foster a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment. Provide ongoing guidance and support to ensure quality and efficiency goals are achieved. Quality Control Inspect completed parts and jobs to ensure they meet company cleanliness and finish standards before release. Identify quality issues and provide corrective feedback or retraining as needed. Maintain consistency in detailing processes and workmanship. Workflow & Scheduling Prioritize detailing work based on production schedules, delivery deadlines, and operational requirements. Coordinate with production, quality, service, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication. Monitor job status and adjust priorities as needed to maintain efficiency. Equipment & Inventory Management Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of detailing tools, equipment, and cleaning materials. Track inventory levels of detailing supplies and coordinate replenishment when necessary. Maintain organized and efficient detailing workstations and storage areas. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures at all times. Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning agents. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. Qualifications Experience 2-4 years of experience in machine shop detailing, manufacturing finishing, or related environments. Minimum 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or lead experience preferred. Skills Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination abilities. Knowledge of detailing techniques, cleaning equipment, polishing methods, and related products. Strong organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working around cleaning chemicals, machinery, and industrial environments.
