$38.00-$45.00 per hour Scudder Roofing is seeking an experienced Lead Gutter Technician to oversee gutter install, sheet metal and metal roofing projects. This hands-on leadership position coordinates crews, materials, equipment, schedules, safety, quality, and customer communication. The ideal candidate has extensive gutter installation, sheet metal experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects safely, efficiently, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Supervise and direct sheet metal crews at assigned jobsites. Gutter installation. Manage sheet metal and metal roofing installations from start through completion. Read and understand project plans, specifications, contracts, and material requirements. Coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, and project schedules. Work with the Warehouse Manager regarding inventory, staging, and material needs. Monitor project budgets, productivity, workmanship, and completion timelines. Identify field issues and implement effective solutions. Conduct weekly safety meetings and maintain required records. Follow and enforce company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements. Train and coach employees on installation techniques, safety procedures, and company expectations. Maintain regular communication with customers, the Superintendent, office staff, warehouse personnel, and other departments. Provide daily project updates, progress notes, photographs, and customer communication. Use Scoop CRM and the company's timekeeping system as required. Ensure crews follow timekeeping, attendance, and meal-period requirements. Safely operate company vehicles, ladders, and job-related tools and equipment. Assist with change orders and project upgrades when appropriate. Attend required safety, foreman, production, and company meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications At least five years of sheet metal installation experience. Prior foreman, crew-lead, or project-management experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of sheet metal applications and metal roofing systems. Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications. Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and active projects. Basic proficiency with email, mobile timekeeping applications, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, or similar programs. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the company's job-related driving requirements. Physical and Work Requirements This position primarily works outdoors at active construction sites and may involve changing weather, noise, heights, roofing conditions, and construction-related hazards. The position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, balancing, and using tools. The employee must be able to lift and move materials and equipment weighing more than 50 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary. Compensation The hourly pay range for this non-exempt position is $38.00-$45.00 per hour, plus overtime when required by applicable law.
