Assistant Production Manager

Blue Fox Brands, a leading cannabis pre-roll and infused pre-roll manufacturer, is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to support our expanding operations. This role will work closely with the Production Manager and Head of Production to oversee daily production activities, ensure quality and compliance standards are met, and help drive efficiency across all processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, team-focused, and experienced in fast-paced production environments, with a strong understanding of cannabis regulations and a passion for scaling high-quality products.

Team Leads, Production Associates Position Summary:

The Production Assistant Manager supports the Production Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations for cannabis prerolls and infused prerolls. This role ensures production runs smoothly, meets quality standards, and complies with Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) regulations. The Assistant Manager also supervises line staff, assists in scheduling, and implements process improvements on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Support:

Assist the Production Manager/ Head of Production in executing daily production schedules. Monitor workflow, production lines, and staffing to meet daily output targets. Step in to manage production lines as needed to maintain efficiency and quality.

Team Supervision & Training:

Directly supervise Team Leads and Production Associates on the floor. Train and mentor staff on production procedures, safety, and compliance. Assist with performance feedback and development of team members.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Ensure all products adhere to internal quality standards and MED regulations. Oversee batch documentation, product labeling, and recordkeeping. Identify and address quality or production issues in collaboration with management.

Process Improvement:

Recommend workflow, equipment, or staffing improvements to enhance production efficiency. Monitor production KPIs and report areas for optimization.

Inventory & Materials Management:

Track raw material usage and alert management to potential shortages or discrepancies. Assist with coordination of inventory and materials on the production floor.

Reporting & Documentation:

Maintain accurate production logs, records, and shift reports. Provide updates to the Production Manager on production status, issues, and team performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Associate degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Cannabis Science, or related field experience preferred but not necessary.

Experience:

5 years in manufacturing, ideally in cannabis preroll or infused product production, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Mandatory requirement.

Knowledge:

Familiarity with cannabis manufacturing regulations (MED), GMP practices, and production workflows. Proficient in METRC inventory tracking system.

Work Environment:

Indoor cannabis manufacturing facility with exposure to plant material and infused products. Standing for long periods and lifting of moderate weights is required. 30 lbs. unassisted, and 50 lbs. + assisted. Must adhere to strict safety, cleanliness, and compliance protocols. Overtime, as needed. Otherwise, Monday•Friday, 7am•3:30pm

Pay:

$26.00•$30.00 per hour
