In this role, you will balance hands-on expert fabrication with team leadership . You will be responsible for interpreting complex blueprints, managing a team of welders/fabricators, and ensuring all your portion of projects meet strict quality standards and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership:
Oversee the daily workflow of your team to ensure assignments are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Custom Fabrication:
Perform advanced cutting, shaping, fitting, and welding of metal components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read, interpret, and convert complex structural blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD designs into finished products.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect finished workpieces to ensure exact compliance with specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
Team Mentorship:
Guide, train, and mentor junior fabricators and welders on safety practices and advanced fabrication techniques.
Equipment Maintenance:
Operate and maintain shop machinery, including brake presses, shears, CNC plasma cutters, and saws.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of structural or custom metal fabrication experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Welding Certifications:
Active certifications (AWS or equivalent) in MIG and TIG welding are highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Exceptional proficiency in reading blueprints, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T).
Equipment Mastery:
Proven experience operating heavy fabrication machinery safely.
Leadership Traits:
Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to [50] lbs and stand for extended periods.
