Shipyard(s) & Customer Facilities SUMMARY Oversees welding operations on designated projects, ensuring work meets industry standards and client expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, weld wire, gases, and fixtures Inspects work to maintain specified standards and quality Trains workers in operation of equipment Set up machines and make trial welds Supervise fitting and assembly of structural frames Ensure that equipment is being properly handled, protected and maintained Prepare records and reports about subordinates and tasks being carried out on the project Work withi prescribed budgets and maintain job cost control Review and submit timesheets for assigned crew Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Directing various number of employees in a productive and safe manner Training, planning, assigning and directing work Conduct Performance evaluations, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustments Handles or escalates disciplinary matters, including performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace concerns, in partnership with HR and in accordance with company policy. Escalates and assists with employee relations matters and employment decisions, including terminations, in partnership with HR and in accordance with company policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES

Thorough understanding of SMAW and GMAW-flux core Ability to read and interpret documents such as opearating and procedure manuals Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods Knowledge of welding machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning work, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources Familiarity with the metric system Excellent attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate with team members for productivity and efficiency Understanding of safety protocols and regulations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Highschool Diploma or Equivalent Formal or informal on the job training 1+ years supervisory experience OSHA 10 Maritime Standards (Company may provide)

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds (50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly) Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead Ability to climb stairs and ladders Some travel may be required
