Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Welding Shop Foreman to lead daily production operations in our custom fabrication and welding shop. Our company manufactures quench vents and specializes in light-gauge sheet metal fabrication, stainless steel, and aluminum welding. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage workflow, maintain quality standards, and support a team of welders and fabricators while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders, fabricators, and shop personnel Schedule and prioritize production to meet customer deadlines Perform and oversee TIG/MIG welding and fabrication work as needed Train, mentor, and evaluate welding and fabrication employees Review shop drawings, work orders, and specifications to ensure accuracy Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with company standards Coordinate material usage and communicate inventory needs Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues and implement solutions Work closely with management to improve productivity and shop efficiency Conduct final inspections of completed products before shipment Requirements Minimum 5 years of welding and fabrication experience Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred Strong TIG and MIG welding skills, must pass a welding test Experience welding stainless steel and aluminum Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, layout, and assembly Ability to read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications Proficiency with measuring tools and shop equipment Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead by example and work effectively with a team Preferred Qualifications Experience in custom manufacturing or industrial ventilation products Familiarity with production scheduling and workflow management Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Paid Holidays What We're Looking For This position is ideal for a working foreman—someone who can lead a team, maintain production schedules, and still step onto the shop floor to weld, fabricate, and solve problems when needed.
