College of Engineering Responsibilities Responsible for programming of computer numerical control milling/lathe/water jet machines. Hands on involvement in the fabrication, including manual machining equipment and welding processes. Determines the correct tools and materials for a job, as well as the sequence of steps to follow in the production of the product. Performs regular maintenance and repair of machinery. Responsible for performs, assists, consults, and/or monitors students in interpreting written specifications and computerized designs given for a specific project [pertaining to operating machinery]. Supervise and mentor Faculty/Staff/ Students while using Machine Shop to complete assignments. Instruct student in the areas of safety training and ensuring that those safety rules are being followed in the work environment. Maintain forklift operator's certificate to assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and packages for the College of Engineering. Oversee and maintains compressed gas cylinders storage cage. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (Note:
or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.) Preferred Qualifications Ability to interpret, conceptualize, design, and modify equipment to meet specialized requirements. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to utilize blueprints and specifications. Ability to utilize technical and problem solving skills. Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
