Job Description
Dumaplast is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join a great team in Canton, GA. Dumaplast specializes in making high quality kitchen, bathroom, and office surfaces. Night shift runs 7 pm - 7 am; swing shift schedule. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the extrusion department. In this department the raw materials are mixed, extruded, and lacquered into boards. This hands-on position will provide supervision to the team and oversee the operation of all automated production lines within the extrusion department. The Production Supervisor will lead and train the team to ensure consistent production quality.
Your Day To Day:
Organize, monitor, prioritize tasks to maximize yield of the mixing, extrusion, and lacquering lines, and to ensure the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient. Lead, motivate and coordinate the extrusion team to achieve predetermined production targets on time and according to the intended quality. Train the operators to start, stop, and operate the lines independently under normal production conditions. Follow up on general and preventative maintenance needs. Communicate with suppliers on tool replacements or refurbishments. Check and plan the availability of materials needed for production on the extrusion lines. Ensure safety and correct operation of the machines. Act appropriately in the event of a malfunction in the production process. Comply with safety regulations and lead by example when executing safety policy procedures. Communicate and use reporting tools to report to production management and other departments. Participate in projects within the production environment to continuously improve and innovate. Check and follow-up on the production orders. Set up, start, stop, operate, and control the extrusion line and adjust the machines and machine settings to process different products. Carry out quality checks on the produced products and make necessary adjustments. Register data in an ERP system. Use forklift to transport product within facility in a safe manner. Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions. Respect the 5S sorting and locations. - High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in an extrusion environment or plastics processing industry a plus.
- Excellent mechanical/machine set-up, repair, and trouble-shooting knowledge.
- Experience in an environment that promotes safety.
- Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Computer skills including Microsoft products.
- Forklift experience or willingness to be forklift certified.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
