Job Description

An established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Paint Department Manager to lead powder coating and finishing operations . This position is responsible for managing department personnel, production performance, quality standards, safety compliance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in industrial powder coating processes, proven leadership experience, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Lead and develop paint department personnel, including supervisors, leads, and production team members. Oversee daily paint operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives are achieved. Manage all aspects of the powder coating process, including surface preparation, coating application, curing, inspection, and finishing. Establish and maintain process controls to ensure consistent product quality and operational performance. Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues and implement effective corrective actions. Monitor department performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and quality enhancement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production schedules and customer requirements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, training programs, and performance expectations. Support equipment maintenance planning and continuous process optimization efforts. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company policies. Required Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial painting, powder coating, finishing operations, or related manufacturing processes. Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of powder coating systems, application techniques, curing processes, and quality control practices. Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing departmental performance. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements. Preferred Experience with automated finishing systems and conveyorized production environments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience managing production, quality, and labor performance metrics. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
