Job Description

The Production Supervisor p rovides operational leadership and technical guidance to production employees across Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, Maintenance, and automated manufacturing systems to achieve shift and plant performance objectives.
Responsibilities:
Provides operational leadership and technical guidance to production employees across Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, Maintenance, and automated manufacturing systems to achieve shift and plant performance objectives. Coordinates cross-functional production activities with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to optimize throughput, minimize downtime, and achieve production targets efficiently. Supports workforce planning, staffing coordination, and shift coverage strategies to maintain operational continuity while balancing labor efficiency and employee engagement. Monitors and drives shift performance through KPI analysis including safety, scrap, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime, labor utilization, efficiency, and quality metrics Utilizes ERP, MES, and production tracking systems to analyze operational data, identify trends, and support data-driven manufacturing decisions and continuous improvement initiatives. Leads shift communication meetings, performance reviews, and operational updates while promoting accountability, employee engagement, and production awareness through visual management systems. Partners with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, optimize labor utilization, and support cost reduction initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Drives Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, standard work, visual management, root cause analysis, and process discipline to improve operational performance and workplace organization. Serves as the frontline operational leader for production and equipment-related issues, collaborating with Maintenance and Engineering teams to support troubleshooting of automated systems, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, and preventative maintenance activities. Supports inventory accuracy and operational readiness by coordinating tooling, spare parts, consumables, and production resources required for shift operations. Reviews employee attendance, labor utilization, and payroll reporting while supporting performance management, coaching, and workforce accountability processes. Supports employee development through coaching, onboarding, cross-training, and reinforcement of operational standards, safety compliance, and manufacturing best practices Assists in implementing operational improvement projects related to automation, process optimization, production reliability, and manufacturing technology advancements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to automated manufacturing systems, production operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification are preferred. Experience working in union or labor relations environments preferred. Demonstrated experience supporting Lean Manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead teams in fast-paced manufacturing environments. Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret production and operational data. Flexibility to support multiple shifts, weekend coverage, and operational demands as required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred to support workforce communication and employee engagement. Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, automated equipment, PLC-driven processes, robotics, or industrial technologies preferred.
