Overview We are seeking a dynamic Night Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our production team during overnight hours. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee manufacturing operations, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess manufacturing experience and excellent leadership skills to motivate and manage production teams effectively. Duties The Night Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process and leading shift personnel to ensure quality products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. This role provides leadership, training, and support to production employees while driving productivity, quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the shift. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead production operators, extruder operators, and material mixers to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Monitor production activities to ensure quality products are manufactured efficiently and meet customer specifications. Oversee equipment setup, startup, operation, troubleshooting, shutdown, and changeovers to minimize downtime and prevent equipment failures. Ensure employees follow established control plans, quality standards, and testing procedures. Partner with Quality Control personnel to identify and resolve non-conforming materials or production issues. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving efficiency, and maximizing productivity. Verify the accuracy and completion of production paperwork, shift reports, work orders, and key performance metrics. Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching, training, feedback, and corrective action as needed. Assist in employee selection, onboarding, training, development, performance reviews, and workforce planning. Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment through effective communication, teamwork, and employee engagement. Coordinate with warehouse personnel regarding raw material availability, inventory movement, and finished goods storage. Communicate production status, maintenance concerns, safety incidents, and operational challenges to plant and operations management. Maintain high housekeeping standards and support 5S initiatives throughout the production facility. Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication and turnover to maintain production continuity. Serve as a backup for Extruder Operators and Material Mixers when operational needs require. Support and enforce all company safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required. Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required. Experience in plastics extrusion, injection molding, compounding, or a related manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience managing production teams and driving employee performance. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills. Working knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices. Ability to interpret production reports, work orders, and performance metrics. Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation and production records. Ability to work night shift and respond effectively to changing production demands. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the production facility. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and equipment operation.
