•Fri Position Summary Integrity Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Gear Manufacturing Lead for a manufacturing operation in Suwanee, GA. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who combines strong gear manufacturing and machining knowledge with the ability to lead, coach, and develop production employees. The Manufacturing Lead will help coordinate daily production activities, provide technical support on the floor, maintain safety and quality expectations, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and ensure the team achieves production goals. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Performance Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to manufacturing employees. Assign work and coordinate workflow based on production schedules, priorities, equipment availability, and staffing. Communicate daily production goals, quality expectations, and safety requirements. Monitor employee performance and provide real-time coaching and feedback. Train and develop new and existing employees on manufacturing processes, equipment, quality standards, and safe work practices. Identify opportunities for employee cross-training and skill development. Promote teamwork, accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement. Conduct or participate in shift-start meetings and effective shift handoffs. Escalate production, quality, safety, equipment, and employee concerns appropriately. Lead by example in attendance, dependability, productivity, safety, quality, and workplace conduct. Gear Manufacturing & Technical Responsibilities Provide hands-on technical leadership within gear manufacturing and precision machining operations. Apply working knowledge of gear cutting, machining, and gear-finishing processes . Support CNC machining and gear manufacturing operations while ensuring established specifications and process parameters are followed. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing specifications, and tolerances. Understand gear terminology, dimensions, tolerances, tooth geometry, and critical quality characteristics. Assist operators with machine setup, tooling, offsets, changeovers, and troubleshooting as appropriate. Monitor machining processes and finished components to identify potential quality or process issues. Use and understand precision measuring and inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges. Troubleshoot issues involving tooling, equipment, materials, processes, dimensions, and finished-part quality. Identify root causes of production problems and participate in corrective actions. Monitor tooling and equipment conditions and communicate concerns before they result in significant downtime. Support continuous-improvement efforts focused on increasing throughput, reducing setup time, minimizing scrap and rework, and improving overall efficiency. Safety & Quality Maintain a strong safety-first culture and ensure team members follow established safety procedures and PPE requirements. Address unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately. Ensure employees follow standard work, manufacturing procedures, inspection requirements, and quality specifications. Promote quality at the source by identifying problems before components move to subsequent operations. Assist with investigations involving defects, scrap, rework, equipment issues, and process deviations. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Performance Expectations The Manufacturing Lead will help drive measurable improvement in: Safety performance Production schedule attainment Daily output and throughput First-pass quality/yield Scrap and rework Equipment uptime Setup and changeover efficiency Employee productivity Attendance and schedule adherence Training and cross-training Continuous improvement Required Qualifications 3+ years of manufacturing experience , preferably involving gear manufacturing, precision machining, transmission/drivetrain components, or related metal manufacturing. Demonstrated knowledge of gear manufacturing and machining processes . Experience with CNC machining and/or gear cutting equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications. Working knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Ability to identify machining, tooling, dimensional, and quality problems. Ability to train, coach, and provide direction to production employees. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple production requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Team Lead, Manufacturing Lead, Senior Operator, Setup Technician, or similar production leadership role . Direct experience manufacturing gears, transmissions, or drivetrain components . Experience with gear hobbing, shaping, cutting, grinding, or related gear-finishing processes. CNC machine setup and operation experience. Experience with precision inspection and metrology equipment. Lean manufacturing, 5S, root-cause analysis, or continuous-improvement experience. Previous responsibility for production KPIs, employee training, or shift performance. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can do more than supervise a shift.
