Primary purpose:
The Floor Supervisor oversees, leads, and coordinates daily production operations on the shop floor, ensuring that cabinet manufacturing processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and to quality standards. This position monitors workflow, improves processes, enforces safety protocols, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Ensuring daily production goals, and quality standards are consistently met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and motivate production employees, assigning tasks and monitoring performance across departments (e.g., assembly, machining, shipping). Develop daily production schedules in coordination with cabinet admin and organize workflow to ensure orders are completed on time and in full to specifications. Coordinate pickups with delivery team Monitor products during and after production to ensure quality standards are met; assist in resolving quality issues quickly. Train new employees in processes, safety, and machinery; provide ongoing coaching and cross-training to enhance team flexibility. Assist with employee onboarding and orientation. Ensure team adherence to all safety guidelines and PPE usage; conduct regular safety checks and report hazards. Assist in conducting safety audits and promoting workplace safety culture. Troubleshoot production issues, equipment problems, or material shortages and escalate as necessary. Act as a liaison between management and production staff; relay updates, goals, and any changes in procedures. Serve as document owner for the Cabinet Shop Machine Maintenance SOP. Review daily inspection logs, conduct weekly and monthly inspections per schedule, ensure corrective actions are completed, and coordinate annual inspections with a qualified technician to maintain equipment safety and uptime. Attend meetings as needed. Monitor and ensure proper use and maintenance of machinery, report breakdowns or maintenance needs. Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety and efficiency standards.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of cabinet shop operations, materials, and equipment (e.g., CNCs, edge banders, saws, assembly). Ability to lead, train, and motivate teams with a focus on accountability and results. Proactive approach to identifying and resolving production challenges. Excellent time management skills. Comfortable reading shop drawings, production reports, and using basic computer systems or ERP software. Forklift operation certification or willingness to become certified. Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well with vendors, and internal departments. Able to walk/stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Uphold company culture. Detail oriented with a commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Other duties as assigned.
