As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition. The Team lead is responsible for leading daily production activities on the shop floor to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met. This role acts as the first line of leadership, coordinating people, equipment, and materials while reinforcing safety, compliance, and company policies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Enforce all safety rules, PPE requirements, and machine safeguards Lead daily start of shift meetings Monitor production vs. plan and take immediate corrective action when needed Escalate downtime, quality issues, and staffing gaps Support changeovers,startups, and shutdowns Ensure adherence to quality standards, control plans, and work instructions Respond to quality alerts, defects, customer concerns Support containment actions and root cause analysis Address attendance, performance, and conduct issues Support on-boarding and cross-training of new employees Complete daily production reports, track labor hours, scrap, downtime, and key KPIs Encourage employee suggestions and engagement Maintain and improve visual management in the plant (hour-by-hour boards, quality fast response, Plex Shop visual) Coordinate with Maintenance/Engineering on work orders, PMs, and equipment readiness Work with Purchasing team to ensure all necessary supplies are available Communicate constraints, risks, and performance updates to the Plant Manager in real time Required Skill/Knowledge High School Diploma or equivalent education/certification - technical or trade school background preferred Manufacturing background with working knowledge of the production process flow preferred Previous experience as a lead or in supervision Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual (Spanish) Comfortable using Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Outlook Previous experience utilizing ERP System (Plex) is strongly preferred Must be able to work in a fast manufacturing facility.
