Production Supervisor - THIRD SHIFTChicago, IL | Manufacturing Operations | $70,000 - $75,000 Base Salary + BenefitsThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the floor, improving processes, and ensuring production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and product quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and supervise production employees across daily operationsDevelop employee schedules and staffing plans to meet production demandsConduct training on job functions, GMPs, safety protocols, and company policiesFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementAddress employee concerns and performance issues in a timely mannerProvide coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary guidance as neededProduction OperationsOversee production processes from mixing through packaging to ensure efficiency and qualityMonitor equipment settings and operational performanceEnsure compliance with production standards during:
MixingFermentationDividingMoldingProofingBakingSlicingPackagingProduct CodingCoordinate material availability to support production schedulesWork closely with maintenance, quality, sanitation, and warehouse teams to achieve operational goalsQuality, Safety & ComplianceEnsure adherence to GMP, food safety, quality, and sanitation standardsVerify completion and accuracy of process control and quality documentationReport equipment, maintenance, and sanitation issues promptlyPromote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety requirementsContinuous ImprovementDrive operational improvements that increase productivity and reduce wasteAnalyze production metrics, downtime, and quality trendsGenerate reports and communicate performance results to leadershipIdentify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and team effectivenessQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 3 years of manufacturing experienceAt least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experienceStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsExperience working in a fast-paced production environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systemsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesPreferredBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Management, Operations, Business, or related fieldFood manufacturing or bakery production experienceExperience working in GMP-regulated environmentsLean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experiencePhysical RequirementsAbility to remain on your feet throughout the shiftAbility to lift, push, pull, bend, climb, and perform physical production-floor activitiesComfortable working in warm manufacturing environmentsAvailability to work weekends and overtime as needed
