POSITION SUMMARY
Supervises production operations at Lake Bluff facility including schedule execution, job assignments, inventory coordination, production efficiency and enforcement of company polices. Responsible for executing the training for the Lake Bluff Production staff, coordinates workforce to meet production needs, and ensures employee safety and company profitability by maintaining a safe and efficient workplace that complies with OSHA and environmental regulations. Verification of production run to specifications and accurate documentation of materials and process. Drive process improvement and efficiencies through problem solving and innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Verifies work orders are being followed. Coordinates the use of resources and job assignments. Verifies raw materials and process data is properly collected and documented throughout each day. Verifies materials are received properly to work orders. Competency to operate each piece of equipment. Will need to cover for low staffing to keep equipment running. Responsible for ensuring that all Operators are trained and competent in all areas of inventory management, including issuing and receiving materials from work orders, retagging materials going back into stock with proper labeling and quantities, as well as placement of materials in pre-defined areas. Documents Job Cost Variances for both closed and released Work Orders for Lake Bluff daily by checking for inaccuracies and ensuring that the errors are corrected through means of communicating with the Lake Bluff teams as WOs are closed. Assists Production Manager on scheduling for the resources to ensure that all jobs are being brought to the Production floor correct and that the Production teams understand the Work Orders and relay any important information to their team. Proactively works with Quality and Purchasing on any non-compliant materials that have been received or produced. Holds all LB employees accountable for adhering to proper handling of HAZMAT materials. Maintains the housekeeping at LB facility. This will include storage and organization of pallets, cores, drums, end plates, and all materials. Monitors shift attendance records; intervene as necessary to ensure employee compliance with attendance & punctuality requirements. Responsible for ensuring adequate shift coverage, including providing coverage as needed for employee call-ins, absences, and approved PTO requests.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Highschool diploma, or equivalent. 3
  • 5 years of multi-line production supervision experience in a manufacturing environment SKILLS Highly skilled in Team Building and conflict management Formal problem-solving skills Sense of urgency Knowledge of coating and laminating processes and equipment Knowledge of production scheduling and inventory management Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements and timeframes Proficient with an ERP/MRP system Excellent communication skills, organized and self-directed Makes recommendations for improvements for process and products that improve product consistency and efficiency.
Mechanical aptitude Ability to manage, direct, motivate and communicate with employees. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and calculate percentages. Available to work overtime when necessary. Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook 2nd Shift
