Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing organization based in the Lemont, IL. Manufacturing Automation & Reliability Sr. Supervisor Location Lemont, IL (On-site) Salary $82,000 - $88,000 a year We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Automation & Reliability Sr. Supervisor to lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of automated plant equipment (conveyors, robotics, PLCs, sensors). In this role, you will ensure high equipment uptime, bridge the gap between plant floor machinery and IT/Digital Transformation (DX) initiatives, and provide backup supervisory support for daily manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities Automation & Maintenance:
Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical systems, PLCs, robotics, and automated lines. Lead preventive and predictive maintenance.
IT/DX Integration:
Act as the primary liaison with the IT/DX team for Industry 4.0, smart factory sensors, and connected-equipment projects.
Manufacturing Support:
Provide secondary/backup supervisory coverage for daily operations, including safety checks and shift handoffs.
Asset & Reliability Management:
Track uptime KPIs, use CMMS to manage work orders, and perform root-cause failure analysis (RCFA/FMEA). Qualifications Required 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance with hands-on technician/mechanic experience. 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role. Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Hands-on experience with PLC-controlled equipment and technical schematics. Strong knowledge of TPM and preventive/predictive maintenance practices. Preferred Experience with robotics, automation implementation, or Industry 4.0 projects. Advanced CMMS user; Lean/Reliability certifications are a plus. Experience with reliability frameworks (e.g., RIME).
Pay:
$82,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
