Job Description
Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift to join the team at the Pinckneyville, IL manufacturing site. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you'll do: The Production Supervisor directs, leads, and supervises production processes and employees within manufacturing department in accordance with established practices and policies. This role is accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee development, and continuous improvement to support the timely delivery of quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Engage employees and strengthen accountability by setting clear goals, empowering appropriate decision-making, encouraging innovation and continuous learning, and providing regular performance feedback and evaluations. Train and develop employees in department equipment operation, machine practices, and inspection procedures. Support employee recruitment, selection, promotion, motivation, coaching, and corrective counseling in accordance with applicable policies and practices.Operations Management:
Coordinate and monitor production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements. Set, communicate, and achieve department goals and objectives; develop and maintain performance metrics; and use results to identify and initiate improvements within the work area. Manage production costs while maintaining product quality and minimizing scrap. Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and customers to support acceptable quality and delivery performance.Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement:
Promote and maintain a safe working environment by supporting accident prevention, incident investigation, equipment maintenance, good housekeeping, and a zero-incident culture. Plan, lead, measure, monitor, and assess continuous-improvement initiatives and manufacturing process improvements using applicable Eaton Business System (EBS) processes and problem-solving tools, including Standard Work and 5S. Review and revise production procedures to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational effectiveness. What will make you successful? Required (Basic)Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associate's degree from an accredited institution and minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment OR High school diploma / GED and minimum 6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 1 year of leadership / supervisory experience in manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.

- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools.

Position Criteria:
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and walk frequently throughout the manufacturing facility during the work shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, independently, with assistance, or through the use of mechanical lifting devices or other mechanical support, as appropriate, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely navigate the production floor and respond to operational, safety, quality, and employee-support needs.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, industrial noise, required personal protective equipment (PPE), and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work in production areas that may not be air-conditioned and may experience warm or elevated temperatures depending on seasonal and operational conditions.
- Ability to follow all safety rules and properly wear required PPE while performing work in the manufacturing environment.
