Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and support daily manufacturing operations. This leadership role reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for directing production activities, leading production employees, coordinating workflow and staffing, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation. Job Summary The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong experience in production supervision, employee development, Lean Manufacturing, problem-solving, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities In this role you will:
- Provide leadership, direction, and daily supervision for manufacturing operations and production employees.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and operational objectives.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly production objectives and clearly communicate expectations to employees.
- Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities, establishing priorities, and coordinating production schedules.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and effective allocation of employees, equipment, materials, and other resources to meet production requirements.
- Monitor production output and ensure products are manufactured according to established specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Monitor key production metrics and communicate performance, progress, issues, and opportunities for improvement to management.
- Identify production issues, bottlenecks, downtime, inefficiencies, and other operational concerns and take timely action to resolve them.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices throughout manufacturing operations.
- Assist in establishing, organizing, and improving workstations to promote efficient workflow, ergonomics, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Lead efforts to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, improve workflow, and maximize production efficiency.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, feedback, and performance direction to production employees.
- Promote employee involvement, teamwork, accountability, engagement, and motivation throughout the manufacturing operation.
- Support effective employee relations by maintaining open communication and addressing workplace concerns appropriately and promptly.
- Ensure employees receive appropriate training on machinery, equipment, manufacturing processes, safety procedures, quality requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with the onboarding and training of new manufacturing employees and ensure employees understand their assigned jobs and responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, products, job requirements, schematics, blueprints, and production specifications.
- Ensure the safe and proper operation of manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate and support regular equipment maintenance and promptly address equipment issues that may affect safety, quality, or production.
- Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and standards and proactively identify and address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Ensure production work areas are clean, organized, safe, and maintained in accordance with company standards.
- Monitor compliance with operating procedures, work instructions, quality standards, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and other departments to coordinate production requirements and resolve issues affecting manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and submit accurate production reports and operational information regarding performance, productivity, quality, staffing, and progress.
- Assist management in identifying staffing, training, equipment, process, and resource needs.
- Support the implementation of new products, processes, equipment, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a sense of urgency, ownership, accountability, and pride in the workplace and in the products manufactured by Organized Living.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee, production, operational, and organizational information.
- Collaborate with company leadership and other departments on cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.
- Three or more years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Supervisor, or in a similar manufacturing leadership role.
- Experience leading manufacturing employees and managing daily production activities.
- Knowledge and practical experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience establishing, organizing, and improving manufacturing workstations and production workflows.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing machinery, tools, equipment, and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and employee development skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and other departments.
- Ability to train employees and effectively communicate safety, quality, production, and performance expectations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
