Type:
full-time FOREMAN | Louisville, Ky Material Recycling Solutions You don't need to know everything about our business. You do need to know how to lead a crew and get work done. Material Recycling Solutions is looking for an experienced, hands-on Foreman who knows how to organize people, operate equipment, solve problems, and keep a job moving safely. Maybe your background is construction. Maybe it's industrial work, demolition, material handling, recycling, machinery moving, or another hands-on field environment. We're less concerned about where you learned to lead than whether you know how to lead when the work starts. If you're comfortable around equipment, understand jobsite safety, know how to keep people productive, and aren't afraid to work alongside your crew when the situation calls for it, we want to talk with you. What You'll Lead As a Foreman with Material Recycling Solutions, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day execution of field projects.
You'll:
- Lead and direct field crews throughout daily project activities.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and work priorities.
- Assign work and make sure crew members understand what needs to be accomplished.
- Organize jobsite setup, execution, cleanup, and daily activities.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling or construction equipment when needed.
- Assist with moving, loading, unloading, positioning, and handling machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor progress and communicate jobsite needs, challenges, and delays to management.
- Read and follow project plans, work instructions, and equipment requirements.
- Maintain accountability for company tools and equipment.
- Assist with basic rigging activities when applicable.
And yes, you'll work alongside the crew when necessary. We're looking for a Foreman, not someone who intends to supervise the job from the truck. Safety Is Part of the Job A productive crew matters. A productive crew working safely matters more. As the Foreman, you'll set expectations for how the work gets done. That includes conducting daily safety discussions, recognizing jobsite hazards, reinforcing safe work practices, and making sure company and customer requirements are followed. Your crew will take its cues from you. We need someone who understands that safety isn't something you talk about before the work starts. It's part of how the work gets done. What We're Looking For You don't need twenty years of specialized rigging experience to succeed in this position. You do need field experience, equipment knowledge, leadership ability, and good judgment. We're looking for someone who brings:
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Leadman, Crew Leader, or similar field leader.
- Experience in construction, industrial work, demolition, machinery moving, material handling, recycling, or a related field.
- Forklift experience.
- Experience operating construction or industrial equipment.
- A strong understanding of jobsite and equipment safety.
- The ability to organize, direct, and communicate effectively with a field crew.
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to adapt when the plan changes or something unexpected happens.
- Comfort working outdoors and in active industrial environments.
- A willingness to perform the physical work associated with field construction and material handling.
Experience with rigging, machinery moving, crane support, or heavy haul is a plus. But it isn't the price of admission. If you know how to lead people, operate equipment, work safely, and take ownership of a job, we can build from there. Why Material Recycling Solutions? Because good field leaders should have room to lead. We're looking for someone who wants responsibility, enjoys solving problems, and takes satisfaction in seeing what their crew accomplished at the end of the day. At Material Recycling Solutions, you can expect:
- Hands-on leadership. You'll be involved in the work, not disconnected from it.
- Variety. Projects, equipment, materials, locations, and daily challenges can change.
- Real responsibility. You'll coordinate the people, equipment, and priorities necessary to keep work moving.
- Equipment experience. This is an opportunity to put your equipment knowledge and operating skills to work.
- Problem-solving. Field work rarely goes exactly according to plan. We value people who can assess the situation and determine what needs to happen next.
- An opportunity to expand your skills. Experience with specialized rigging isn't required, giving strong field leaders from other industries an opportunity to learn new capabilities.
- Work you can see.
At the end of the day, you'll be able to look at what your crew accomplished and know you helped make it happen. We Can Teach the Work. Can You Lead the Crew? You can teach someone a new piece of equipment. You can teach a new process. You can teach the basics of rigging and machinery moving. Leadership is harder to teach. We're looking for someone who knows how to bring a crew together, establish expectations, solve problems, hold people accountable, and step in when the team needs help.
Someone whose people know:
This is the plan. This is what good looks like. Let's get to work. If you've built that kind of reputation in construction, industrial work, demolition, material handling, recycling, or another hands-on environment, don't let a lack of specialized rigging experience stop you from applying. Bring your leadership. Bring your equipment experience. Bring your work ethic. We'll build from there.
