Job Description

Apply Description QuikCut, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Metal Fabrication Supervisor to oversee the cutting and forming operations at our QuikCut West facility in Columbia City. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, maximizing equipment utilization, and ensuring seamless workflow from scheduling through production. The Manager will play a critical role in increasing laser beam time, ensuring materials and jobs are available for processing, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Supervise daily operations within cutting and forming departments, including laser cutting, bending, and forming processes. Partner closely with the Production Scheduling team to ensure optimized workflow and efficient equipment utilization. Drive improvements in laser beam time by minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous machine operation. Ensure all required materials, work orders, and documentation are available on the production floor prior to job start. Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and efficiency. Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance expectations and support continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain compliance with company safety standards and promote a strong culture of workplace safety. Support quality initiatives to ensure fabricated parts meet customer and company specifications. Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Coordinate maintenance needs with appropriate teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime. Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of laser cutting, CNC operations, and forming processes (press brake experience preferred). Experience working with production scheduling systems and lean manufacturing principles. Demonstrated ability to improve equipment utilization and production efficiency. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Lean certification or training (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen). Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or fabrication.
