Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor in overseeing daily production operations, including monitoring employee performance, ensuring quality standards are met, managing schedules, among other responsibilities. Will also directly participate in hands-on production tasks as needed to maintain workflow and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Assist in leading and managing production teams including cross training, mentoring, guiding, and disciplining.
  • Interprets, applies, and consistently enforces all company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety protocol.
  • Responsible for assisting in the continuous improvement efforts that drive value added activity to better service the customer needs while impacting the bottom line.
  • Drive safety awareness/adherence, 5S, waste elimination and LEAN maturity.
  • Learn and understand all systems and procedures such as personnel safety, quality control, customer satisfaction, manufacturing and plant financials, environmental compliance, employee payroll, production reporting, plant metrics, maintenance, etc.
  • Fulfills all record keeping requirements including written performance reviews, safety training, documentation, documenting disciplinary actions, and job-related training.
  • Work closely with other production leaders and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in each department.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, preferably Marine Industry
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn and operate HRIS systems
  • Strong time management/organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to successfully lead teams and manage multiple projects at once
