This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance while ensuring efficient operation of our coil coating processes. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives on the production floor, develops high-performing teams, and quickly resolves operational challenges.
What You'll Do:
Lead Production Operations Oversee daily shift activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Monitor production schedules and line performance to meet customer demands. Maintain process standards and ensure compliance with operating procedures. Coordinate shift activities to maximize uptime and minimize disruptions. Lead and Develop Employees Supervise, coach, and support production employees. Manage attendance, timekeeping, and workforce scheduling. Conduct performance discussions, coaching sessions, and corrective actions when necessary. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Drive Safety and Compliance Promote and enforce all safety policies, PPE requirements, and LOTO procedures. Conduct safety observations and address hazards proactively. Support environmental, OSHA, and company compliance initiatives. Champion a safety-first culture throughout the shift. Solve Problems and Improve Performance Troubleshoot production, quality, and equipment issues. Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams to minimize downtime. Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor key performance metrics including productivity, scrap, downtime, and quality. Communicate and Coordinate Maintain accurate production and shift reports. Ensure effective shift handoffs and communication between departments. Provide updates on performance, staffing, safety, and operational concerns. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. 5+ years of manufacturing experience. 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, safety practices, and employee management. Experience with attendance tracking, timekeeping systems, and performance management. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Preferred Experience in coil coating, metals, steel, aluminum, or continuous manufacturing operations. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience using ADP and maintenance management systems (CMMS). Work Environment This position works primarily on the production floor and requires frequent interaction with equipment, machinery, and employees. Candidates must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving equipment, and rotating shifts as needed.
