A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Production Supervisor to lead second shift operations at its Plymouth, Indiana facility. This leadership position is responsible for driving safety, employee engagement, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing a high-performing production team. Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations during second shift while ensuring production goals, quality standards, safety expectations, and workforce engagement objectives are consistently achieved. This role serves as a key member of the operations leadership team and plays a critical role in developing employees, improving operational performance, and fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the operation. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations. Conduct safety observations, investigations, and corrective actions as needed. Hold team members accountable for maintaining a safe work environment. Lead safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices daily. Employee Leadership & Engagement Lead, coach, mentor, and develop production employees to maximize performance and engagement. Build a culture centered on accountability, respect, teamwork, and continuous development. Conduct performance discussions, coaching sessions, and corrective action conversations when necessary. Support employee training, onboarding, and workforce development initiatives. Foster positive employee relations and maintain strong communication across all levels of the organization. Production & Operational Performance Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives. Monitor and manage key performance indicators including efficiency, throughput, scrap, downtime, labor utilization, and attendance. Ensure production schedules are executed effectively while maintaining quality standards. Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve performance. Drive accountability for departmental goals and operational results. Continuous Improvement Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize processes. Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve overall performance. Utilize data and production metrics to drive decision-making and sustainable improvements. Lead problem-solving activities and root cause analysis efforts. Communication & Collaboration Maintain accurate production records, reports, and shift communications. Effectively communicate expectations, priorities, and performance objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational success. Provide leadership visibility and maintain an active presence on the production floor. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing leadership, supervisory, or team leadership experience. Demonstrated success leading teams in a manufacturing environment. Strong employee engagement, coaching, and team development skills. Experience managing production metrics and operational performance. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems. Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, or Operational Excellence initiatives. Spanish language skills are a plus but are not required. Experience leading large production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
