Job Description

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
  • This role follows a rotating shift schedule to support continuous operations.
  • The Shift Supervisor II supports the management team and reports to the Sr Operations Manager.
The successful candidate leads and drives the manufacturing initiatives of operators, leads, and shift supervisors to support the manufacturing improvement process and production control systems. Their activities include but are not limited to, safety performance, quality, training, and productivity. The Shift Supervisor II will possess proven leadership skills, able to coach, train, and help drive accountability. By leading cross-functional teams, you will support and prioritize team workloads and drive continuous improvement in our training and certification. They will ensure compliance with all the highest standards for safety, health, and environmental standards, company, federal, and state regulations and laws. The incumbent will strive to maintain a positive and productive labor-management relationship in a unionized work environment. Sustain workplace safety policies and quality standards. Provides mentoring, coaching, support, training, and guidance to plant leads and supervisors. Will lead (directly and indirectly) in the execution of 5S, production reporting, scrap reporting, and schedule attainment. Acts to resolve and escalate conflicts, risks, issues, and action items as brought forth by shifts. Responds to issues or problems that arise in day-to-day operations. Meets with appropriate staff to define, investigate problems or issues, and propose solutions to improve productivity. Critical role in assisting with the development of a production control system. Proactively challenges the performance of current systems and processes; identifies risks and develops solutions and procedures, and ensures necessary risk mitigation steps. Improve and develop training documentation and certifications, including training program development, and prioritize plant needs. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with our staff and customers, both verbally and in written communication. Other duties as assigned and needed. This is an onsite position and requires a strong manufacturing floor presence .

Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor of Science in a technical field required, or equivalent industry experience Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment Experience in continuous process manufacturing preferred Qualifications & Experience Experience with SAP and other ERP systems Strong manufacturing background with a proven track record of driving production improvements Demonstrated ability to improve team performance and engagement Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adjust work hours based on business needs Leadership & Core Competencies Excellent organizational and leadership skills Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on team building Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse workforce Ability to facilitate action plans and drive results Technical & Problem-Solving Skills Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve issues and minimize production downtime Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as control systems #
