Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to lead production operations on the factory floor. In this vital role, you will oversee daily production activities, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous process improvements. Your leadership will motivate teams, maintain high-quality standards, and optimize workflow efficiency to meet production targets. The ideal candidate enjoys being on the production floor, coaching employees, solving problems, and improving processes while leading by example.

Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily production goals. Monitor workflow to ensure production schedules are met. Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing all company safety policies and procedures. Train, coach, and develop team members while promoting accountability and teamwork. Monitor product quality and ensure customer specifications are consistently met. Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency. Complete employee coaching, performance evaluations, attendance documentation, and disciplinary actions as needed. Ensure accurate production reporting and shift documentation. Assist with onboarding and training new employees. Promote continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. Maintain good housekeeping and organization within assigned production areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or technical education preferred but not required. 3+ years of manufacturing or industrial production experience. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand production equipment. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Experience with ERP or production reporting systems is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and coaching abilities. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to motivate teams and build positive employee relationships. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Physical Requirements Frequently stand and walk for extended periods. Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and reach overhead. Work in varying temperatures typical of an industrial recycling facility. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work around moving machinery, conveyors, grinders, shredders, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. Work Environment This position works primarily on the production floor in an industrial facility. The environment is not climate controlled and includes exposure to machinery, moving equipment, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. The Production Supervisor is expected to spend the majority of their shift actively supporting employees on the floor rather than working from an office. They lead by example, communicate effectively, and help create a culture of teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
