Please note that Meco, LLC does not perform HVAC operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal work, insulation installation, IMP installation, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. As a Sheet Metal Foreman, you will oversee sheet metal installation processes, keep time for your crew while documenting daily progress, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of sheet metal workers and helpers. Provide training and mentorship to team members.
Project Management:
Plan, schedule, and monitor sheet metal work to ensure timely completion of projects. Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet project goals.
Quality Control:
Inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. Implement quality assurance measures.
Fabrication and Installation:
Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal components, including ducts, flashing, and custom sheet metal items.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve issues that arise during the fabrication and installation processes. Make recommendations for improvements.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all team members follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials and tools necessary for sheet metal work.
Documentation and Timekeeping:
Create daily timesheets for your crew and maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily reports, material an equipment usage, and project progress reports.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of experience in sheet metal work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings. Strong knowledge of sheet metal tools and equipment.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications in sheet metal work, safety training, or project management are preferred.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively lead a team and interact with clients and stakeholders.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environmental conditions.
