Manages and coordinates the work of production team/s. Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees. Additional focus areas include employee safety, continuous improvement activities, product quality and food safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for team compliance on product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Reviews production schedules to ascertain projected workload, product types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications, including staffing of production lines and areas. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance gaps to ensure timely production of quality product. Observes workflow and machine utilization to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Motivate and lead team members to achieve production goals. Serves as our team members immediate resource for questions and concerns. Complies, stores, and retrieves production data. Meets with work teams regularly to discuss past results and work to resolve current gaps and issues. Promotes and maintains the Continuous improvement initiatives which emphasizes employee engagement, team building and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Operational Effectiveness:
Ability to manage the day to day activities using personnel and resources to the best effect EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three or one to three years related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College graduate preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of organizations. Bi-lingual in Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations such as machine speeds, pounds per hour, and to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Computer proficient with ability to present functional specifications to the IS Department.
