Production Supervisor - 2nd
Shift Location:
Norwood, MA Shift:
2nd Shift (5:00 PM - 5:00 AM)
Pay:
$32.00/hour Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of manufacturing associates to produce high-quality products while meeting production goals, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring efficient operations. This role spends the majority of the time on the production floor providing leadership, coaching, and support to maximize productivity, minimize waste, and maintain quality standards. Key Responsibilities Plan and execute daily production schedules to ensure efficient use of labor and resources. Lead, coach, and develop production employees while managing staffing, attendance, and performance. Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards and product specifications are consistently met. Maintain appropriate raw material levels and accurate production records. Identify and address safety concerns while ensuring compliance with OSHA, HACCP, USDA, and company safety standards. Train team members and support ongoing skill development and cross-training initiatives. Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve production issues and improve operational efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and performance. Maintain shift logs, training records, and operational documentation. Oversee sanitation activities and ensure compliance with sanitation schedules, including weekends or non-production days when required. Supervise post-sanitation startup to ensure safety, quality, and operational readiness. Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred. 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience preferred). Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with production processes, quality systems, and workplace safety compliance. Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) is a plus. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Regular work in production environments that may be cold, wet, humid, and noisy. Ability to walk throughout the production facility, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands to perform job duties. Flexibility to work weekends or off-shift hours as needed to support production and operational requirements. Must follow all company safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hygiene policies. #MFT2
