We are seeking an experienced CNC Production Manager to lead day-to-day production in a precision CNC machining environment. This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position responsible for overseeing production operations and making sound decisions based on daily, weekly, and longer-term shop priorities, capacity, staffing, quality, and delivery requirements. The Production Manager is responsible for keeping jobs properly scheduled, staffed, prepared, documented, and moving through production on time and at the required quality level. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Shipping, Purchasing, Leadership, other department leads, and senior management to identify problems early, coordinate priorities, and keep production running effectively. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day production operations and make production decisions based on shop priorities, customer requirements, available capacity, staffing, quality, and delivery needs. Own and maintain the detailed production schedule, job sequence, machine assignments, and labor priorities. Manage machine and staffing capacity while balancing customer priorities, available resources, and delivery requirements. Collaborate with department leads and management on production scheduling, purchasing needs, shipping priorities, outside processing, staffing, and other issues affecting production flow. Verify that scheduled jobs are ready for production, including required material, programs, tooling, inspection requirements, documentation, and outside-processing plans. Respond to absences, machine downtime, material shortages, tooling issues, quality problems, and other production constraints; identify delivery risks early and develop appropriate recovery plans. Supervise production employees, assign work, provide coaching and training, and maintain clear performance expectations and accountability. Conduct employee performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, recognition, and corrective guidance as appropriate. Promote a professional, respectful, and productive work environment that supports employee engagement, retention, communication, and strong performance. Use the company's ERP and other computer-based manufacturing systems for day-to-day production management, including scheduling, job status, priorities, blockers, expected completion timing, and overall production visibility. Work in coordination with manufacturing systems leadership to ensure production information is accurate, current, and consistently maintained. Use workforce management and timekeeping software to maintain production staff schedules, review time records and timesheets, manage schedule changes, and coordinate attendance-related staffing needs. Review and approve employee time-off requests and overtime in accordance with company procedures and production requirements. Use company software and digital communication/documentation systems consistently for production coordination, recordkeeping, employee-management activities, and cross-department communication. Provide management with input on production-related staffing, overtime, equipment, tooling, purchasing, and other resource needs that affect operational planning and budgeting. Ensure quality problems are identified, contained, communicated, and coordinated with Quality and management. Promote safe manufacturing practices and address production or equipment conditions that could create safety, quality, or delivery risks. Identify opportunities to improve production flow, machine utilization, labor effectiveness, communication, documentation, system use, and on-time delivery. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or a closely related manufacturing environment, with direct responsibility for supervising production employees and managing day-to-day production workflow. Demonstrated experience managing production schedules, work priorities, machine capacity, and staffing. Strong working knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes, including milling and/or turning, machine setups, tooling, engineering drawings, and precision inspection requirements. Experience using ERP/MRP or similar computer-based manufacturing management software for production scheduling, job tracking, or related production-management activities. Experience using digital workforce management, employee scheduling, timekeeping, or timesheet software in a supervisory or management role, including management of staff schedules, time records, time-off requests, attendance, and overtime. Strong general computer proficiency and the ability to learn and consistently use new manufacturing, business, communication, and documentation software. Experience working within an ISO 9001 or comparable documented quality management system. Strong leadership, communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively on the production floor as well as with production data, schedules, software, and management systems. Ability to work collaboratively with department leads and senior management while maintaining clear responsibility for day-to-day production decisions and employee supervision. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Production Manager, CNC Machining Manager, Machine Shop Manager, or similar manufacturing leadership role. Experience with

2015 audits, corrective action, root-cause analysis, and manufacturing quality metrics. Strong knowledge of GD&T, precision inspection, and tight-tolerance machining. Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or manufacturing process-improvement experience. Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision manufacturing environments. Experience with secondary machining and assembly operations, including installation of threaded or helical inserts, pins, bushings, or similar hardware. Experience with general mechanical assembly or other secondary assembly operations.

Pay:

$105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
