Feast & Fettle is hiring a Packout Supervisor to support our Culinary Operations team in East Elkridge, MD. This is an on-site position with a Fri-Tue 6am-2pm or Thu-Mon 2pm-10pm schedule. What you'll do In this role, you'll support the Packout Manager, collaborate closely with other Packout Supervisors, and partner with various departments to in ensuring the portioning, presentation, and packaging of our menu items meet the daily pack fulfillment deadline, maintaining the highest possible quality, precision, and food safety standards for delivery to our members. You will be responsible for implementing training and coaching for your team and supervisors, ensuring that the standards of our values and code of conduct are both established and upheld.
Pre-Shift Preparation:
Review the day's schedule and projects in collaboration with fellow Supervisors, to make an effective game plan for pacing and labor use during the shift. Partner to organize stations with the correct materials and tools required with station leads and expediters. Set clear, visible expectations for the shifts and monitor pack times efficiently.
Team Readiness and Motivation:
Conduct a checkpoint meeting at the start of each shift to ensure all team members are compliant with uniform, are work ready and provide any support information they may need for the day. Review Daily schedule for Compliance. Motivate and drive the team to meet or beat pack times and reward the team for meeting daily/weekly goals and gains in efficiency.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with GMPs. Drive Accountability with food safety and station cleanliness. Conduct random checks of the process to ensure the Food is safe and of high quality for the member experience. Promote and ensure the teams are operating in a safe and food safe way.
Continuous Monitoring and Feedback:
Leverage station lead and expediter assignments to drive efficiency. Communicate consistently with Production, FSQA and Purchasing on shorts, product quality, timing, etc Take advantage of coachable moments to elevate the team, especially finding moments to celebrate the wins and using opportunities for improvement to drive positive results. Push adherence to the Packout Schedule, ensuring all items are prepared and packed by the deadline. Regularly review and suggest updates to SOPs, ensuring they reflect the most efficient and effective practices. Support and direct cross-training initiatives, especially driving skills development amongst your team.
Employee Development and Safety:
Hold weekly team meetings to discuss achievements, areas for improvement, and gather feedback on operations. Encourage the team to suggest innovative ideas for more efficient operations, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Use tools like the Performance Tracker and Candidate Scorecard to engage with the management and People team, aiming for continuous improvement. Drive accountability for time and attendance according to F&F expectations. Identify and invest in all team members, providing opportunities for growth and development, and taking the time to meet associates where they are at. Ensure a safe, positive, and empowered workplace environment, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety at all times. What we're looking for: 3+ years working in commercial kitchen, catering, or scaled production environment 3+ years of training and managing kitchen teams of 15+ employees Experience with scaled food production preferred Able to maintain rigorous, high quality, food safety standards Highly detailed-oriented and able to keep calm under pressure Must be able to lift 25+ lbs. Multiple times/day Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) Must be comfortable in working in Cold Pack environments (36F or less) Desire to contribute positively to your coworkers and to the company Ability to listen and communicate effectively Very strong work ethic and enthusiastic attitude Tech savvy is a major plus!
