Job Summary The Fire Sprinkler Fabrication Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a fabrication shop specializing in cutting, threading, and welding fire sprinkler pipes, as well as managing a fire extinguisher recharge station. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining quality control, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and collaborating with other departments to meet project deadlines. Key Responsibilities Oversee the fabrication of fire sprinkler piping, ensuring adherence to NFPA 13 standards. Fabricates and assembles the piping network on-site, including cutting, threading, grooving pipes, installing valves, pipe hangers, and sprinkler heads. Manage the fire extinguisher recharge station for timely and accurate servicing of equipment. Develop and implement production schedules to meet deadlines and customer requirements. Ensure all fabrication work meets quality control standards and specifications.
Team Supervision:
Supervise, train, and mentor fabrication shop personnel to promote safety, quality, and efficiency. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Coordinate staffing levels and allocate resources to meet production demands.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the shop. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions. Maintain documentation for safety inspections, equipment maintenance, and employee training.
Material and Equipment Management:
Oversee inventory of raw materials and finished products to meet production needs. Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment to minimize downtime. Evaluate and recommend improvements to fabrication processes.
Coordination and Communication:
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other departments to ensure seamless workflow and project execution. Communicate effectively with clients and vendors regarding specifications and timelines. Prepare and present reports on production metrics, safety, and quality performance. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler fabrication or a related industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of fire protection and fire extinguisher materials and equipment. Proficiency in fabrication techniques such as cutting, threading, welding, and pipe fitting. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with fabrication shop equipment and tools. Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and manual labor. Ability to safely operate fabrication machinery and tools.
Compensation:
Salary:
$75,000-$90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
