Job Description

Position Overview We are a growing, metal fabrication company located in Reading seeking an experienced and driven Manufacturing Supervisor to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and support the next phase of organizational growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader with significant supervisory experience, a strong understanding of the Toyota Production System (TPS) / Lean Manufacturing , and the ambition to grow with a scaling organization. While prior plant management experience is a plus, it is not required. Candidates with strong supervisory backgrounds and demonstrated success leading Lean initiatives are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Provide full operational leadership for plant-level manufacturing activities, including fabrication, welding, assembly, finishing, and material flow Lead, coach, and team leads, and hourly employees Drive the implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing / Toyota Production System principles , including: Standard work 5S and visual management Kaizen and continuous improvement events Waste elimination and process flow optimization Own plant performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics Establish daily management systems, tiered accountability, and KPI tracking Partner with senior leadership to execute operational improvement initiatives Develop and manage staffing plans, training programs, and succession planning Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams Lead problem-solving efforts using data-driven and root-cause methodologies Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience with progressive leadership responsibility Experience in metal fabrication, machining, welding, or related industrial manufacturing environments Demonstrated familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS) / Lean Manufacturing concepts and deployment Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and deliver results Strong communication, organizational, and change-management skills Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the shop floor Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Prior Manufacturing Supervisor or Operations Manager experience Formal Lean or Six Sigma training/certification Experience supporting operational turnaround, scaling, or integration initiatives Growth Opportunity This Manufacturing Supervisor role offers meaningful career upside; we are focused on building scalable operations and developing internal leadership.
