Manufacturing Operations Supervisor —
Engineered Fiber NVH Department:

3rd A day in this role You arrive on third shift ready to lead a high-energy crew producing lightweight, durable engineered fiber components for automotive NVH applications. You kick off with a safety huddle, walk the floor to verify standards, and adjust staffing to hit the night's schedule. Throughout the shift, you coach team members on equipment operation, drive 5S, rotate jobs for ergonomics, and keep a close eye on quality and output. When a variance appears, you dig into root causes, take corrective action, and capture learnings to feed continuous improvement. Before handoff, you close payroll entries and document actions so the next shift launches smoothly. What you will lead Direct and support production team members in daily operations; apply the team member handbook, safety rules, and all relevant policies and procedures. Deliver hands-on training for safe, efficient equipment use; champion spotless work areas so the plant is always visitor-ready. Create a proactive safety culture using 5S, job rotation, and ergonomic best practices to prevent injuries. Evaluate performance (attendance, quality, productivity, attitude, job knowledge) and recommend hiring, promotion, transfer, demotion, or release as appropriate. Keep staffing at authorized levels; reassign labor to avoid unfavorable variances and meet production plans. Own core metrics—balance quality, productivity, safety, cost, and morale to achieve results across the board. Continuously examine your area for better methods, tooling approaches, communication, reporting, and cost control; elevate improvement proposals. Audit operations for compliance to methods, quality specifications, safety rules, and production standards; correct deviations immediately. Coach through issues such as low output, quality escapes, attendance, or tardiness; document, action-plan, and follow through to resolution. Partner with the Plant Manager and Operations Manager to investigate any gaps to cost standards and implement corrective actions. Maintain timekeeping accuracy and submit payroll-related forms on time. Build a strong team ethos focused on collaboration to achieve department and plant goals. Model and advance MBS Lean principles and methodologies. What you bring Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, operations, business management, or related field (preferred). 3+ years of supervisory experience. 5+ years in a production manufacturing environment. Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt preferred).
