Production Supervisor Job Description The Production Supervisor oversees shift operations in a high-volume automotive manufacturing and assembly environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement Reporting to the Production Manager, this role leads Production Team Leaders and Production Team Associates, ensuring standardized work, effective training, and continuous improvement across all production activities Job Responsibilities Plan, assign, direct, and coordinate day-to-day activities for Production Team Leaders and Production Team Associates to meet production targets and customer requirements Assist the Production Manager in determining and managing appropriate manpower levels to support efficient and effective shift operations Train new and transferred employees on job duties and responsibilities, and support cross-training to build a flexible and knowledgeable workforce Ensure all employees consistently follow standardized work processes, rotation schedules, and established production procedures Track and report daily production performance, analyze results, and drive improvements where necessary to enhance output and efficiency Work to improve first-run capabilities by identifying recurring issues, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, ergonomics, and operational efficiency Ensure strict adherence to all company policies, procedures, plant standards, and safety rules across the shift Essential Skills Proven experience supervising production teams in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing or assembly environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated experience guiding and motivating teams Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
