Job Description

Role Overview:
This position leads daily department operations in a retail store, acting in the absence of the manager or as directed. Responsibilities include managing inventory, ensuring product quality, training associates, and maintaining staffing levels to meet company standards and key performance indicators.
Key Duties:
Order, monitor, and control inventory, including proper markdown procedures to reduce loss and ensure freshness. Validate received shipments for quality, quantity, and condition; store products appropriately. Supervise team activities such as stocking, production, and product rotation, handling spoiled/damaged items per guidelines. Maintain product knowledge, execute sales promotions, and support departmental plans to meet goals. Assist in scheduling, labor control, and payroll management. Support staffing, training, performance management, and associate development. Participate in meetings, communicate plans, and uphold safety, food safety, cleanliness, and guest experience standards. Perform additional tasks as assigned, including cross-department support.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or GED; retail experience preferred. Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Leadership ability and hands-on management skills. Knowledge of retail operations and management systems; suggestive selling experience preferred. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; bilingual skills (Spanish) desirable.
Physical & Other Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and operate in varied environments. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
