PRODUCTION GROUP LEADER
Location :

Lansing, MI

Delta Township Schedule :

Onsite, 5 days per week

Assignment :

Long-term contract with potential for extension or direct hire

Shift :

Must be available for all three shifts

Pay :

$35-40/hr based on experience and education We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader to join a high-volume automotive production environment as a Production Group Leader. In this role, you will lead and support hourly manufacturing employees while helping ensure production, quality, safety, material flow, and productivity goals are met. Group Leaders may support Production/General Assembly, Material, or Quality operations and should be comfortable working across departments and shifts based on plant needs.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, training, and developing hourly employees
  • Managing daily staffing, assignments, rotations, and production priorities
  • Supporting material flow and production operations
  • Monitoring safety, quality, productivity, and performance metrics
  • Addressing staffing, production, quality, and operational issues
  • Working closely with Production, Quality, Material, and other plant teams
  • Supporting lean and synchronous manufacturing initiatives
  • Conducting safety and quality audits
  • Maintaining shift documentation and cross-shift communication
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements What we're looking for:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to lead teams, provide direction, and hold employees accountable
  • Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred
  • Union manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift and rotate departments as needed Shifts (must be available for all three): 1st: 6:00 AM
  • 3:00 PM 2nd: 2:00 PM
  • 11:00 PM 3rd: 10:00 PM
  • 7:00 AM The role is onsite five days per week with approximately 8 hours of overtime expected each week, including weekend work.

The current schedule may include two Saturdays followed by one Saturday off. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build or expand their manufacturing leadership experience within a large-scale automotive environment, with exposure to production, quality, safety, material flow, lean manufacturing, and performance management.
