Manufacturing Supervisor Job Description As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and coaching safety, quality, and productivity to ensure objectives are met through standardized work practices. You will manage all production activities in the unpack room, ensuring production plans are completed on time and with high quality. Your role involves overseeing management systems such as production, equipment optimization, and safety inspection, and driving continuous improvement through servant leadership. Responsibilities Supervise and coach safety, quality, and productivity to meet objectives. Manage production activities related to the unpack room according to production orders and inventory levels. Ensure timely and high-quality completion of production plans. Oversee the implementation and control of management systems including production and safety inspection. Drive personal and team goals by maintaining high performance standards through servant leadership. Build strong interpersonal relationships to create a conducive work environment. Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution using a Positive Employee Relations approach. Oversee and manage 5 operators per shift who perform repetitive tasks involving unpackaging material from AGVs and loading it onto conveyors. Essential Skills High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 2+ years of experience in team management overseeing 10+ people. At least 2+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience in the automotive or battery cell industry. Familiarity with automotive manufacturing and/or battery cell manufacturing. Comfortable with learning new technology. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree or above, preferred. 2 years of manufacturing supervisory experience preferred. 2 years in a battery cell manufacturing environment preferred. Work Environment The manufacturing facility in Michigan is a multi-billion dollar project transitioning to produce lithium iron phosphate cells for grid-scale energy storage. The facility spans 500 acres and is designed to generate 20 gigawatt-hours of battery capacity annually. The work schedule includes a training period and a rotating shift system with 12-hour shifts. The facility promotes a dynamic and forward-thinking environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Marshall, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
