Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all machining and assembly activities associated with a product line in RENK America (Transmissions/Engines). This role ensures that daily production operations run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). The manager provides direct leadership to production supervisors and collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to support seamless production flow and continuous improvement. This position plays a key role in building a high-performance manufacturing team, optimizing processes, and ensuring manufacturing readiness to meet program and customer requirements. Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations for a product line including both machining and assembly areas. Provide direct supervision and coaching to production supervisors and support personnel. Ensure production meets or exceeds Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets. Monitor shop-floor performance, resolve production bottlenecks, and drive throughput improvements. Oversee compliance with safety policies, standard work instructions, and quality requirements. Champion continuous improvement activities including 5S, standardized work, and waste reduction. Maintain accurate production schedules and resource planning to meet delivery commitments. Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and reliability. Track departmental KPIs and prepare performance reports for leadership. Support training and development for production teams to build capability and strengthen workforce skills. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
