Job Description
Our Client, an Automotive company, is looking for a Production III for their Redford, MI location.
Responsibilities:
Implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
Set and monitor product standards to ensure quality finished products.
Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Requirements:
Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.
5-7 years experience required.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required, preferably in a plant or manufacturing environment (not required - any supervisory experience is applicable)
Experience working in a UAW facility is a plus — this person will be supervising UAW employees and must be comfortable navigating that environment professionally
Automotive or heavy manufacturing background is preferred
Familiarity with part numbers and automotive components is helpful
Though the manager did say that this can be learned on the job/trained
GM or other OEM experience is ideal for candidates coming from another automotive company (not required)
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel preferred
People-oriented leader with the ability to manage, motivate, and hold accountable a large hourly workforce (30+)
Comfortable diffusing conflict, addressing employee concerns, and maintaining composure in a high-pressure, fast-paced plant environment
