Description Job Summary:
As a Walsworth - Saint Joseph Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing assigned production operations within the manufacturing facility (primarily web printing and bindery) to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with company quality standards. This role is designed to be cross-functional and may be assigned to supervise multiple production areas based on business needs. This is a second shift position with up to 20 direct reports.
Essential Functions:
Plan, prioritize, schedule, and delegate daily work assignments. Directly supervise assigned production functions. Coordinate activities across departments to ensure efficient workflow. Ensure quality standards and address non-conforming products. Ensure compliance with safety rules and housekeeping standards. Train, coach, and develop employees. Complete performance evaluations and corrective action. Maintain production records and reports. Communicate production performance and issues to management. Collaborate with other departments. Support new equipment and implementation process. All other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience with web printing and web presses (Goss Sunday presses) preferred Experience in bindery (Muller binders and saddle stitchers) preferred Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position. Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills. Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment. Requires the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Requires specific vision abilities that include close vision. May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time. May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight. May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma and one year experience in any production area or graphic arts trade. Bachelor's in Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
