Job Description

Description Assembly Supervisor Lead People. Drive Results. Build a Strong Team. Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor to lead production operations and develop a high-performing team in our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, enjoys coaching employees, and is passionate about driving safety, quality, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will have proven experience leading large groups of hourly production employees, balancing production priorities, and creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. What You'll Do As an Assembly Supervisor, you will lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved. You will work closely with Team Leads, Managers, and cross-functional partners to support efficient production while developing the skills and performance of your team.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead and supervise a team of 15-30 hourly assembly employees in a manufacturing environment. Coordinate staffing and production resources to meet schedule requirements and customer demand. Coach, develop, and mentor employees to improve performance, engagement, and career growth. Hold employees accountable to safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and company expectations. Conduct regular one-on-one conversations, provide performance feedback, recognize achievements, and address performance concerns when necessary. Ensure employees receive proper training and are equipped to perform their jobs safely and effectively. Partner with Team Leads to identify and resolve production issues while maintaining workflow and productivity. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to improve operational performance. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving techniques. Communicate effectively with employees, peers, managers, and senior leaders to ensure alignment on priorities and results. Support 5S, housekeeping, safety initiatives, quality systems, and standard work practices. Utilize tiered accountability processes to escalate issues and drive timely resolutions. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented production leader who can effectively motivate and develop employees while maintaining focus on operational performance. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, production, or related operational experience. Minimum of 1 year of direct supervisory or leadership experience. Demonstrated experience leading multiple hourly employees in a production or manufacturing environment. Strong coaching, employee development, and performance management skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, from frontline team members to executive leadership. Proficiency in problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Leadership experience in assembly, manufacturing, or industrial production environments. The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000/annually and is dependent on experience and qualifications.
