SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the management of a designated shift in the Production department. Duties include managing product quality, processes, performance indicators, safety, sanitation and cost containment. This position will also be responsible for making recommendations in the areas of hiring, discipline and termination. The Production Supervisor will be called upon to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in his/her management decisions. This position is 3rd shift, overseeing operations from 9:30pm-6:30am, Monday through Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with Quality Assurance, executing and supporting all Quality programs that ensure the production of Safe, Quality Foods.

Lead and coordinate the daily activities of production personnel for designated shift.

Maintain and ensure the safety of all employees through proper training, enforcement of safety rules and following proper procedures.

Maintain/exceed established production standards and maintain product integrity.

Track and report on all established standards such as downtime, productivity, process improvements and all quality issues.

Manage and control cost as it relates to budgeted labor, materials, and waste.

Participate in cost savings projects, idea gathering and implementation.

Monitor and enforce established
GMP, OSHA, HACCP
rules and regulations.

Actively participate in successful completion of established plant financial, quality, sanitation and safety goals and objectives.

Ensure departmental/individual compliance with national, state, local building/mechanical codes: safety codes; company and customer policies, procedures and standards.

Participate in the hiring process.

Properly document performance concerns and give appropriate feedback as required.

Maintain open/active communication with all levels of the organization.

Monitor employee time keeping system to ensure accuracy for payroll.

Ensure proper training of all employees and participate in ongoing process and machine operation training.

Participate in product development test runs and introductions.

Maintain the highest standards and housekeeping with a focus on food safety.

Participate in the implementation and maintenance of HACCP programs.

Maintain audit readiness at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in management or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years demonstrated experience in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in leading process improvements, development of employees and establishing training processes.
Skills:
Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferredSound leadership skills with a history of success stories. Excellent troubleshooting and follow up skills Excellent communication skills necessary to interact within all levels of the business. Dependability and reliability Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Safety awareness is a must
SECONDARY SUPPORT
In the event of an absence, the duties of this position will be covered by another Production Supervisor or the Operations Manager who have been successfully trained on the functions Production Supervisor.
RELATIONSHIPS
Maintain a strong working relationship with Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and Human Resources
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to read, write and communicate orally in English. Must be able to hear. Must be able to reach 5 feet and lift above head. Must be able to lift and carry 25+ pounds. Must be able to stand/sit for up to 10-12 hours. Must be able to receive phone calls at home. Must be flexible in regards to shift and stop times.
