PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
CPKC is looking for a proactive, results-oriented Supervisor of Work Equipment to lead a high-production team responsible for system-wide repair and maintenance from Portal, ND to Chicago, IL. This front-line leadership role ensures all equipment and vehicles are safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively maintained in accordance with company standards and regulations. You will manage resources, oversee workflows, and promote a strong culture of safety and operational excellence to support smooth rail operations across the region. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys working outdoors, and is open to frequent travel.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Coordinate and watch the performance of maintainers to ensure the reliability of work equipment as guided by the Manager of Work Equipment Schedule and overseePlanned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)for vehicles and equipment, ensuring timely inspections, accurate evaluations, and effective follow-up on inspection reports Prepare and arrange detailed condition reports for all work equipment within the assigned region Mentor, coach, and guide maintainers and machine operators to enhance their skills, efficiency, and overall performance Ensure strict adherence to CPKC safety practices, policies, and procedures to uphold a safe and compliant working environment Review, analyze, and manage financial results, ensuring alignment with assigned budgets and operational goals Track inventory to safety stock levels and implement effective processes to reduce downtime and support operational efficiency Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams to enhance operational synergy and territory-wide performancePOSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general equivalency Must be at least 18 years of age Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Minimum of5 years of relevant work experiencein a railway work equipment maintenance environment Possession of aJourneyman Certificateas a heavy-duty mechanic is considered a strong asset Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency inCPKC systems, such as SAP Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a team and priorities in a fast-paced, safety-driven environmentWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER
