Job Description

Manufacturing company in the Perham, MN area is seeking an entry level Production Supervisor to join their operations team and overseen night shift operations. This is a foundational leadership role designed for an "emerging leader"—someone who may be a recent university graduate with an interest in manufacturing or a professional with early-career leadership experience looking to pivot into the industry. This will be a M-F 11p-7a shift. The successful candidate will focus on learning their production processes from the ground up while taking immediate responsibility for team morale, safety compliance, and daily output. This role is a direct pipeline for future management opportunities within the company.
Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Oversee the daily activities of a production shift, ensuring team members are stationed effectively and understand their daily targets.
Operational Oversight:
Monitor production lines to ensure quality standards are met and output remains on schedule.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce all safety protocols and PPE requirements, conducting regular floor audits to maintain a "zero-incident" environment.
Training & Coaching:
Assist in onboarding new hires and providing ongoing coaching to associates to improve technical skills and performance.
Problem Solving:
Identify equipment or workflow bottlenecks and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to implement quick, effective solutions.
Reporting:
Maintain accurate logs of production metrics, attendance, and quality incidents using our internal management software.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste and optimize floor efficiency.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and leadership experience.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience. We are specifically looking for candidates with demonstrated leadership potential, which may include internships, military service, athletic captaincy, or previous roles as a shift lead in retail or hospitality.
Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver clear instructions and provide constructive feedback to a diverse workforce.
Technical Aptitude:
A quick learner who is comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and eager to master manufacturing execution systems (MES).
Adaptability:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, loud, and physical environment; must be comfortable standing for long periods and working flexible hours if needed.
Critical Thinking:
A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure when production challenges arise. #jdp
